PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! Sheffield Wednesday fans have reacted to the news that Andre Green is on the brink of becoming the Championship club's first signing of the January transfer window. As exclusively revealed by Yorkshire Live last night, Green is closing in on a free transfer move to Hillsborough. Barring any late hitches, the 22-year-old wide man could be unveiled as an Owls player later today. Green, a quick, direct winger, has been searching for a new club since leaving Aston Villa last summer. The 22-year-old caught the eye in the second half of last season on loan at Charlton Athletic and has also enjoyed shorter temporary stints at Portsmouth and Preston. It is understood the Owls have been keeping close tabs on Green since his Villa Park exit. He will provide Wednesday, who are still on the look out for their third permanent manager of the season, with much-needed pace and cover in the wide positions. Here is what some had to say on Twitter. Baxyby07: Great signing! Judehallowl: Would think it’s a relatively risk free signing. Good age, no transfer fee and lads been without a club for a while so surely his wage won’t be that high. But then there’s the question of why has nobody snapped him up yet... Andrew Smith: Get the new manager (Paul Cook) in asap and let him sign his own players. PaulGSewell: Something we lack, pace and creativity - hopefully a good addition. Craig B: Lets hope we do get him AND he lives up to his reputation. Fingers crossed. AdamAGreenius: Good, good signing if true. Todd Bailey: Good signing.

. Paul: Signing players without a manager. How strange. Bailey: Good signing on a free. True Yorkshire: Good to see the club still moving forward even without a manager. Wallis: Decent championship player, pacey but lacks end product. Give him enough game time and he’ll probably come good. Danny Gee: I don’t understand why people moan. We desperately need another winger and it looks like we are hopefully getting one. Any manager coming in will be happy with that. We still have a scouts etc who have probably had an input. Plus it's a free transfer and can't be any worse than what we've got. Wednesday fans have also given their reaction on our Owls Facebook page: Ethan Jackson: A good quick winger. Sean Bottomley: A bit of punt this to be honest. Looked like he had the world at his feet a few years ago but that was a few years ago and has since spent six months without a club. I wonder how fit he is. Simon Tongue: If he has got pace and will take a shot then fine. Mick Taylor: Decent player.
