Alex, who was born with hand and arm deformities and a twisted right leg which had to be amputated when he was a baby, started his journalism career at the Liverpool Echo in the early 2002s. The 38-year-old now works for the Press Association and regularly features on Channel 4 shows such as The Last Leg and The Jump. In 2014, Alex starred in a Scope campaign to end awkwardness around disability and he is also the official ambassador of charity Legs4Africa. Last year, he featured in BBC Two documentary Alex Brooker: Disability and Me, where he examined how much his disability has impacted his life and how others in similar situations live. He first gained attention in 2012 following his coverage of the Paralympic Games and has since become a regular on our TV screens. He has co-hosted Channel 4 show The Last Leg for over 10 years and presented ski jumping show The Jump with Davina McCall in 2014. In 2016, he began presenting The Superhumans Show for Channel 4 daytime. The couple, who settled down in Huddersfield where accountant Lynsey is from, has two children: Covey and Huxley. However it wasn’t all smooth sailing as sadly the pair allegedly went through a difficult time when there were reports that Alex had an affair. Speaking to The Mirror, a source said: "Last year was a really tough year for Alex and Lynsey. "He was filming in London and she was at home up north. It was a real strain on the marriage. He met this other woman while filming in London for The Last Leg. They had a real connection and became very friendly." The source claims the affair lasted for about a month before the woman ended the romance. It was reported Alex told Lynsey about the affair and they’re working on their marriage. The Last Leg returns on Channel 4 at 10pm.
