Yorkshire news Huddersfield Town player ratings as Terriers sub-par again in loss at Birmingham PremierLeague-News.Com
PremierLeague-News.Com - Marks out of ten for the Terriers from their Friday evening trip to Birmingham City, where once again a poor first half showing meant a better second half was too little too late
PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! Lee Nicholls – Should have saved Przemyslaw Placheta's lead-doubling goal just before the break but palmed into his own net instead. 4 Rarmani Edmonds-Green – Once again about the only one of Town's starters to emerge with any credit at all in the first half, winning his headers well and playing some good balls up to the front line. Got away with a slip in the second half as Juninho Bacuna shot straight at the keeper. 6 Jonathan Hogg – Came into defence to make a back three on the ball but moved into midfield out of possession. Beaten much too easily on several occasions - we simply do not like him in a flat midfield four. 4 Tom Lees – Looked uncomfortable on the left and was beaten by a couple of balls over the top of the defence. An unusually sloppy initial outing from Town's Mr Reliable. Better second half. 5 Josh Ruffels – Targeted in two-on-ones early on, including for Birmingham's early goal, but soon got more support from Rudoni. Had a decent effort saved from the edge of the box. 4 Ollie Turton – Beaten to the header by Scott Hogan as Birmingham took the lead. Offered a good outlet up the right to allow Thomas to come inside, but not much came of it. 5 Jon Russell – Another lumbering first-half performance on and off the ball, and against constantly overrun alongside Hogg in midfield. Continued his pattern of improving after the break and played a key part in the build-up to Danny Ward's goal.

. Good at starting moves from deeper in the second half. 5 Sorba Thomas – Had a really bad first half as his touch deserted him and his frustration was evident. But he kept going, got much better after the break and played a smart ball to claim an assist for Ward's goal. 5 Danny Ward – Kept dropping deep to allow others to run past him and get into the box first half, but was the man in the right place to get onto Thomas' through ball and finish superbly to give Town at least some hope. 6 Jack Rudoni – The only other change to the first XI alongside Anjorin. Needed to help Ruffels out more early on but in fairness soon cottoned on to that. Got the play moving well in a promising second half showing. 6 Substitutes Will Boyle (for Edmonds-Green 75) – Made his first appearance since returning to the club in the summer. 6 Duane Holmes (for Ward 75) – Took over Anjorin's role as an attacking midfielder. 5 Jordan Rhodes (for Anjorin 75) – Finished the game up front in Ward's place. Had a good penalty shout turned down. 5 Josh Koroma (for Rudoni 89) – n/a Subs not used: Jacob Chapman, Yuta Nakayama, Etienne Camara.
