PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! Three miles from Studley Royal, Yorkshire's most impressive gardens, is arguably the county's fanciest hotel. By 'fancy', I mean opulent restaurants, lavishly decorated bedrooms, meticulously kept sprawling gardens and all the leisure facilities you can shake a gold-tipped cane at. This is Grantley Hall, near Ripon, which is unsurprisingly popular with the rich and famous. Neighbours call this hotel, in a converted 17th-century pile, the 'Ritz of Ripon'. It has three restaurants, not least a Michelin-starred one run by Shaun Rankin and a brasserie described by Guardian food critic Jay Rayner as 'confused and asphyxiatingly expensive'. It has two principal bars: the oak-panelled Norton and the modern, 360-degree Valeria's named after the hotel's owner Valeria Sykes. The Barnsley coalminer's daughter reportedly spent £70m of her divorce settlement transforming the grade II* listed but dilapidated stately home into a luxury hotel. Back to the hotel itself which has one of Britain's best-equipped wellness centres complete with a cryotherapy chamber, underwater treadmill, snow room and spa garden. Outside there are 30 acres of formal gardens – including a listed Japanese garden from 1910 – as well as grounds and woods.

. Even the standard 'deluxe' rooms are lavishly but tastefully decorated with Italian marble en-suites. And it's upwards from there through tiers of rooms and suites increasing in size and luxury. Top of the pyramid is the Presidential Suite , which features a full-size bar and a grand piano and the Royal Suite , a dazzling, 100 sq m duplex. It sounds like heaven but cool your boots; we couldn't find anything cheaper than £500 a night. You might as well go large and rent the Royal Suite for £3,200 a night. Those who can afford to stay at Grantley Hall have included Wayne and Coleen Rooney as well as members of the Real Housewives franchise. To suit the requirements of its elite clientele, the hotel has applied four times to operate a helipad. Harrogate Borough Council refused one application, while three others were withdrawn. This includes an application last year which was withdrawn after councillors were advised to reject it. For now, the rich and famous will have to make do with arriving in their supercars which if you visit, you'll see parked up.
