The Met Office states the region will have a hot and sunny day today (Thursday) before thunder is expected tomorrow. A yellow weather warning for thunderstorms is forecast for parts of the country today but Yorkshire will not been affected, according to the Met Office. However, throughout tomorrow, thunder and rain are expected across Yorkshire. There will still be some sun in places. Bradford It will be a sunny start to the day on Friday before it turns to thunder from 1pm to around 6pm. The rain will continue into the evening. Leeds It will be cloudy, changing to light rain in the morning and into the early afternoon. From 3pm, thunder is forecast until around 6pm. Sheffield The South Yorkshire city will have a bright and sunny start to the day but this will turn to thunder by 11am until around 1pm. The sun will return into the late afternoon. York The weather will be similar to Sheffield in York.

Clear spells developing, perhaps prolonged after midnight. Minimum temperature 12 °C. Friday: Sunny spells at first, however cloud soon thickening. Scattered heavy showers developing with a risk of hail and thunder. Very warm still, but less hot than on Thursday. Maximum temperature 27 °C.
