PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! It's far from being a done deal, but the pieces appear to be falling into place for Alexander Blessin to become the next Sheffield United manager. The vacancy which has existed since Chris Wilder departed his role on March 14, was seemingly going to be filled by under-23s boss Paul Heckingbottom for the remainder of the season. However, fresh reports emanating from Belgium suggest that Blessin appears poised to leave his current employers KV Oostende "imminently". That, coupled with other clubs interested in Blessin, may force United's hand and tempt them into getting their man before the season is out. Yorkshire Football App - Blades Yorkshire Live has launched a new dedicated football app to bring you the one stop shop for all Sheffield United news. Blades' owner Prince Abdullah is said to be impressed not only by Blessin's work with young players, but also his ability to deliver results on a budget. The Belgian outfit are currently punching above their weight and sit fourth in the standings with just two rounds of fixtures to go. Not only is there the obvious connection between Blessin's profile in Belgium and the fact that the Prince's footballing confidant Jan Van Winckel is known to be a fan. There is also an unlikely, existing Yorkshire connection. Blessin's current employers are controlled by the same majority shareholder, Pacific Media Group, as United's Yorkshire rivals Barnsley. Chien Lee, a Chinese-American businessman, completed his takeover of the Oakwell outfit in 2017. He also has stakes in Swiss side Thun and French team Nancy.

Given the recent links with United, you would find it hard to believe that the duo had not provided Blessin with some context over a potential move in the opposite direction. In other words, being able to understand the Yorkshire dialect! Speaking in an interview in November, Blessin remarked of how he struggles to understand Scottish defender Jack Hendry - the Celtic youngster who has starred on loan at Oostende this term. "When I speak to Jack, I don't understand a word he says!," Blessin admitted. "But his team mates do because he's a great talker in defence. He makes the people he's playing with better. "He's been a tower of experience for us. Jack's the most important member of the team this season and he's one of the best defenders in the league." Another aspect of Blessin's management that has been looked on favourably from afar at Bramall Lane is his ability to bring together a cosmopolitan squad. The aforementioned Hendry and McGeehan arrived from British football and they form just two of 11 different nations represented on the Oostende roster. United's recruitment, particularly if they return to the Premier League, will feature players from abroad. The reluctance to look beyond these shores when it came to identifying players was one of the issues that caused friction behind the scenes between the board and previous manager Wilder.
