Evidence on the response of the emergency services was continuing to be heard. The inquiry is expected to hear today from John Fletcher, a former Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service group manager. Now retired, he was head of resilience at the service. A now retired Greater Manchester Police inspector is also expected to give evidence. The independent public inquiry, established by Home Secretary Priti Patel, is expected to run well into this year.
