The car had overturned after it crashed into a lamppost and emergency services rushed to the scene. The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon (June 21) between the sports centre and the cricket pavilion near Cambourne centre on Back Lane. The road was closed whilst emergency services attended the scene, this included firefighters who helped to free the two people trapped in the overturned car. Two people who were freed from the black Audi are said to have suffered minor injuries. People were urged to stay away from the scene while crews carried out their work. A further update from police also confirmed the following: "Today police officers responded to a 999 call in Cambourne after a car had crashed into a lamppost which left two individuals trapped in the vehicle. "Thankfully with the aid of the Fire Service and Paramedics as well as members of the public, both individuals were aided out quickly and have only suffered some minor cuts and bruises".
