PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! St Johnstone’s preparations for the new season will include a summer training camp in Spain. Manager Callum Davidson is taking his players to the Murcia region for six days of hard work and team bonding. Saints, who brought in Andy Considine and Drey Wright last week, are working towards their first competitive Premier Sports Cup fixture on July 12. “We start back on Wednesday and can’t wait to get going,” Davidson said. “Obviously we have a few injuries still carried over from last season but most of the boys will be back and ready to go. “We are going to Spain next week, which will be great for the lads to get over there for a few days. “We were going to go away in January for a camp but that was cancelled, so it’s great to finally get it on. “The boys will be working hard, plenty of double sessions, and it’s also great for team bonding. “Hopefully we will have a few more new faces in before then as well. We are working hard on getting them in. “We have missed out on a few, it’s tough at times because you think you’ve got someone then they end up signing elsewhere. “But we are not the only club that happens to, you just have to move on and try to get the next one on the list. “We have signed a bit of experience, which I think was important, and now we’re looking to add a bit of excitement and quality at the top end of the pitch. “When you look at last season, we didn’t get past people enough to create chances – so that’s what we’re looking for now. We have to get the right people in to help our strikers score goals.

. Davidson said: “I wanted Drey to stay when I first came into the job two years ago. It’s good to get him on board now. “I haven’t actually worked with Drey, I met him along with Tommy at Bridge of Allan before he signed here but I left before I got the chance to work with him. “So Drey is like a brand new player for me and I’m looking forward to working with him. “Even though I was away I saw enough of him to know what he’s about and also saw him when he played for Hibs. “He’s a good fit for us, he’s versatile and has good energy and pace. “He can play wing-back, wide on either side and also higher up if need be. “He enjoyed his time here before and was very keen to come back. “As a club, we have done well with that kind of signing before and hopefully Drey is able to get himself going again here with us.” On Friday, striker Callum Hendry bid an emotional farewell to the club and the city after signing for English League Two side Salford. Davidson said: “Callum did brilliantly for us when he came back from his loan at Kilmarnock. “He scored a lot of important goals and put everything into keeping us in the league. “It was clear he wanted to go back down to England so we thank him for his efforts and wish him all the best for the future.”
