PremierLeague-News.Com - Gordon is expecting bids this summer but Hibs won't be selling on the cheap.
PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! Ron Gordon has admitted he is 'excited' at interest in Hibs ' teenage left-back Josh Doig and has refused to rule out a summer exit for 'one or two' key assets. But the owner has warned that the Leith side won't be selling on the cheap - so the likes of Leicester will have to cough up the cash to lure their stars south of the border. 18-year-old Doig has been a revelation for Hibs this season, impressing greatly throughout his 27 appearances under Jack Ross. He's been linked with a move to Leicester with Brendan Rodgers ' team among the reported frontrunners for his signature. There has also been talk of a potential move to Manchester City and Gordon, speaking ahead of the club's digital AGM, says his rapid rise to the top merits interest in his services. I love him, I love his energy," Gordon said. “He has tremendous attributes as a player, he’s got great speed and a terrific shot – if he ever puts it in, it’ll be a beautiful thing. “In just one year of playing time he’s grown and matured, he’s more comfortable and confident. I think he’s a terrific young man and a great player. “I’m excited Brendan Rodgers is interested in him.” But Gordon added that any move will have to be for the right price.

“For a kid like Josh, the ability to play for a team like Leicester City is something we have to be behind and encourage. “There is a time for everyone. This is just his first year, so let’s wait and see. “I’d hope he won’t go cheaply! I don’t think we should undersell our players. Josh is a great player, we are trying to be reasonable but we don’t want to undersell our assets as a club. “But we need to find the right balance of what’s good for the club and what’s good for Josh. “We spoke about it at the AGM last year, we want this to be a player’s club. We want to do the right thing by them by having their careers in mind first and foremost.”

As well as Doig, there is expected to be interest in 22-year-old centre-back Ryan Porteous. Bids could also re-emerge for Kevin Nisbet after his January move to Birmingham City was thwarted at the final hour. But Gordon added that the club won't be selling up the core of Ross' first-team, with just one or two high-profile departures expected when the transfer window opens. “That could be a possibility (players leaving) and to be honest it wouldn't surprise me," he said. "We are thinking about those possibilities and planning accordingly. “I don't anticipate more than one, at the outside two but I do think that one could have the opportunity to move this summer.”
