Francis Farrell spent the last 14 years of his 43-year career as headteacher of St Athanasius’ Primary in Carluke. He leaves behind a legacy of leadership at the school, which staff say will be difficult to top. The school held a day of celebration for Mr Farrell, including a red carpet as well as speeches from staff and Francis himself. New acting Head teacher, Mr Simon Gavin, spoke very highly of his predecessor.
