PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! Despite holidays abroad being illegal for at least another six weeks, the Home Office is urging people whose passports have expired, or are close to expiry, to apply now for a new British passport. Prior to the pandemic, Her Majesty’s Passport Office would expect to process 7 million passport applications per year. This figure dropped to just over 4 million in 2020.  With an expected shortfall of 3 million applications, HMPO anticipates increased demand of 45 per cent once travel restrictions are lifted and is warning that people should now allow up to 10 weeks when applying for their passport. Straightforward renewals are currently being processed in a matter of days, but the anticipated demand means that HMPO is more than tripling the standard, three-week turnaround in order “to meet the travel plans of… customers during any period of the very highest passport demand”. The i newsletter latest news and analysisEmail address is invalidThank you for subscribing!Sorry, there was a problem with your subscription.
