PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! Andy Murray says he is struggling to practise competitively but is still planning on playing Wimbledon next week.Murray pulled out of Queen’s last week due to an abdominal issue suffered in defeat to Matteo Berrettini eight days ago in the final of Stuttgart. Two subsequent scans have revealed no serious damage but Murray described the injury as “a tricky one” and is understood not to have been hitting serves in practice because of it.“It’s not stopped me from practising,” Murray said.More from TennisHow to watch Wimbledon 2022 on the BBC, plus when it starts and the daily schedule20 June, 2022What we know about Nadal’s injury, Raducanu’s return and the form of Murray ahead of Wimbledon20 June, 2022Berrettini warns Djokovic he will be much better if he gets rematch of Wimbledon 2021 final19 June, 2022“The positive is that I’ve been able to get on the practice court and hit balls and work on a lot of different things, but there’s specific shots that I have not been able to practise and that has obviously hampered the preparations.“The next few days are important for me to start to increase the training [and] start to hopefully get to play some points to see where I’m at.”Murray called for the trainer shortly after levelling the match at one set all against Berrettini, who would follow up success in Germany by winning the title at Queen’s for the second year in a row.But former world No 1 Murray had been in the ascendancy in Stuttgart when injury struck, and the 35-year-old tried to play through the pain with a first grass-court title since 2016 on the line. However, he insists doing so did not jeopardise his Wimbledon participation.“I didn’t feel like I was doing myself any more damage,” Murray added.“The injury that I have is not a significant injury, but it’s an injury that is tricky for tennis players. You need to manage them well and do everything properly and respect it. I’ve done that so far.“Hopefully that will pay dividends come Monday, but no, the significance of the injury, the grading of the injury was not so bad that I could say that I made it worse by continuing.

.“It’s frustrating but I played nine matches in two weeks,” Murray said.“I haven’t done that since 2016. Six years since I last was able to do that.“In the end, I think it was like nine matches in 12 days, which is significant and just unfortunately, I picked up this injury.“Yeah, it’s frustrating because my game was obviously in a good place physically. I was feeling good. I felt like I was moving. Everyone that I trust and respect in terms of their opinions on my game and my movement were very happy with how that side of things was going and progressing.“I’ve been in worse situations in recent years. The positive for me is that: that I’ve dealt with certainly worse issues in the last few years and handled them okay.”Andy Murray is wearing the Championship Collection from his signature AMC range which he will be playing in for Wimbledon 2022.
