The health and wellbeing of all of these individual and groups is extremely important to us and we hope you appreciate the reasons for us having to make this decision.

.runlochlomond.com The Lennox Herald told last year how veteran runner John Zimnoch declared himself the winner of the 2020 event. The self-confessed “born rebel” had missed out in 2019, when the race was last won, having travelled from his hometown of York but stubbed his toe getting into the shower leaving him badly bruised and in excruciating pain.
Determined runner "wins" cancelled Loch Lomond 10k
Joker John told us: “Wife Ingrid and I had such a lovely time in Balloch and, determined to finish the job, I entered again for the 2020 run. “I didn’t mind the postponement to September but it really ticked me off when it was cancelled.” In making the decision to complete the route on September 5, the rescheduled date, John said: “I’m a born rebel and very contrary, it appealed to my devious mind and sense of humour, plus I was mad it was postponed and didn’t want to mess about with hotel bookings again and we had enjoyed being in Balloch and the countryside around. “I came first. Admittedly nobody else ran but it’s still an achievement to be recognised. My winner’s trophy, finishers medal and the t-shirt would be nice.” Organisers got in touch with John after we featured him in the Lennox to present him with a medal and t-shirt which he was delighted to receive.
