PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! Residents were "horrified and disgusted" to discover racist swastika graffiti spray-painted around Ely today (April 6). Photos posted to social media this afternoon show two of the hate symbols sprayed on a bin and a path. Cllr Matt Downey, District Councillor for Ely East, said the graffiti had been sprayed in "four or so separate locations" around the Cherry Hill area of Ely in Cambridgeshire. He said: "The police need to take this incredibly seriously. We've seen rising hate crimes around the country and this isn't the first instance of swastikas being graffitied in Ely. "There's also been evidence of hateful groups like Generation Identity distributing propaganda in Ely. These are not isolated incidents.

. "Thank you to residents who have been in touch, we are working with the Police on this matter and the graffiti will be removed tomorrow morning. Anyone who has information about these incidents is asked to contact the police using crime reference number 35/19777/21. A huge swastika was graffitied around the same area of Ely in 2019. TV producer Simon Dowconzki discovered the symbol when he was taking his dog for a stroll on Cherry Hill. At the time he said the swastika was "massively offensive" and spoke of his horror that it had appeared in one of Ely's nicest shared spaces.
