PremierLeague-News.Com - Rodgers’ toughest decision comes in attacking midfield, but ‘warrior’ Jonny Evans should return for the final
PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! Brendan Rodgers has a big call to make in attacking midfield as Leicester City step out at Wembley for their first FA Cup final in 52 years on Saturday. The majority of Leicester’s team picks itself going by recent selections, but there will only be room for one of James Maddison or Ayoze Perez behind strikers Jamie Vardy and Kelechi Iheanacho when they take on Chelsea.Maddison was dropped for Tuesday’s win at Manchester United, with Perez coming into the starting XI as Leicester strengthened their hopes of playing Champions League football next year.Get expert FPL tips, delivered straight to your inboxEmail address is invalidThank you for subscribing!Sorry, there was a problem with your subscription. That was Perez’s first Premier League start since the match against Manchester City on 3 April, and with the 27-year-old also starting ahead of Maddison for the FA Cup semi-final win over Southampton, Rodgers could appear to have a favourite in this role when it comes to the big games. But these games are about more than talent. You weigh up the physical nature of the game, what you want out of it.”Elsewhere, Leicester have been boosted by the news Jonny Evans should be fit in time to play Chelsea having missed the last two league games with a heel injury. The centre-back limped off during the warm-up of last Friday’s match against Newcastle, but the Northern Ireland international looks set to start along with Caglar Soyuncu and Wesley Fofana in defence.“He’s progressed really well in this last 24 hours,” Rodgers added.

. We’ll see what the reaction is after that and we’ll make the final decision on that tomorrow [Friday]. We’re really hopeful.“It’s a discussion between myself and Jonny. Ultimately, you’ve got to speak with the players. He’s a warrior, and if there’s any which way he can play, even if he’s not 100 per cent, he’ll be out there.Leicester’s predicted XI for FA Cup final vs Chelsea (Graphic: i)“I also have to balance that in that it’s a huge game, it’s going to be a physical game, so we need physicality in the team, and good running ability. If that’s hindered in any way, it may make it difficult for him. We’ve got 24 hours so we’ll see how he goes.”There are no new injury concerns for Rodgers, and with Kasper Schmeichel a certainty to start in goal, likewise Wilfred Ndidi and Youri Tielemans in central midfield, the final two spots up for grabs are at wing-back.The versatile Timothy Castagne deputised for Evans at centre-back recently, but the Belgian will probably return to right wing-back if Luke Thomas retains his place on the left.Thomas has fought his way into first-team contention of late, starting four of Leicester’s previous five league games and scoring an impressive opener at Old Trafford on Tuesday. His form could be enough to keep Ricardo Pereira on the bench, while Marc Albrighton is set to be one of Rodgers’ go-to substitutes as he has been in eight of their last 11 league games.More on football‘I want Burnley to be the UK’s favourite underdog’Deeney: ‘Middle-class white people are outraged about racism now – that’s what stokes change’The making of Everton’s versatile defender whose rise surprised even his own managerHall: Martial is running out of chances to prove he is part of the future at Man UtdThe Czech ‘warriors’ who rose from obscurity to fire West Ham into European contention
