PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! Covid jabs are now being rolled out to over 80s across Stirling with venues including the Albert Halls transformed into vaccination centres. As efforts are stepped up to vaccinate more people in the community, it has been confirmed that local people will be invited to a list of local GP practices and community venues - including the Albert Halls in Stirling, Ladywell Church in Bannockburn and the Victoria Hall in Dunblane - to have the jabs. Health chiefs have confirmed that more than 100,000 people locally have already been given the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine, which has been delivered to health and social care workers, as well as care home staff and residents. On December 8 Forth Valley Royal Hospital saw some of the countries first vaccines administered to medics and key workers. NHS Forth Valley’s director of public health, Dr Graham Foster, said: “Approval of the Oxford AstraZeneca vaccine is great news as it is logistically easier to administer in local settings, meaning that we can roll it out to more people starting with those aged 80 and over. “However, we’d urge patience as we work through priority groups in line with the national guidance and supplies available. . Most people will receive their vaccine at their GP practice, while others will be immunised at a community hub, with letters being sent out informing people where and when to attend, with scheduled appointments used to avoid overcrowding. Other community venues also in use in Forth Valley are Falkirk Town Hall, Dobbie Hall in Larbert and Alloa Town Hall. The vaccine requires two doses to offer the best possible protection, with the second appointment scheduled for up to twelve weeks after the first dose is administered. The health board’s director of pharmacy, Scott Mitchell, said: “If anyone has any difficulties in attending their scheduled Covid-19 vaccination appointment or need to change it then they can email or phone our local vaccination helpline using the contact information in the letter. “We would also remind people that cases of Covid-19 are still increasing rapidly due to the new variant, so even if you have received the vaccine you still need to wear a face covering, wash your hands frequently and keep a safe distance from others as the vaccine doesn’t offer immediate protection.” The full list of sites offering the vaccine in our area are as follows: Stirling Community Hub, Forth Valley Royal Hospital, Forth Medical Group (Bannockburn), Aberfoyle & Buchlyvie Medical Centres, Allan Park Medical Practice, Tor Medical Group, Balfron Health Centre, Bridge of Allan Medical Centre, Drymen Health Centre, Dunblane Medical Practice, Edenkiln Surgery, Fallin Health Centre, Callander Medical Practice, Forthview Practice, Killearn Medical Centre, Kippen Surgery, Orchard House Health Centre, Park Avenue Medical Centre, Park Terrace Medical Practice, The Wallace Medical Practice, Killin Medical Practice, The Whins Medical Centre, Viewfield Medical Practice, Tillicoultry Medical Practice, Doune Health Centre, Airthrey Park Medical Centre.
