PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! A 10-year-old boy is stuck in quarantine at a Scots airport hotel after flying alone to be reunited with his family after several months apart. And Sami Caraballo’s frustrated dad Antonio has been forced to stump up more than £2,000 to isolate with him at the Edinburgh Hilton for 11 nights of his two-week trip from Finland after learning he would not be allowed to isolate at home. The 44-year-old, a key worker for an oil and gas firm, yesterday branded the Covid-19 regulations “draconian” - saying Sami only has 15 minutes of fresh air each day during an escorted tour of the hotel’s car park and won’t eat his meals. The dad, from Edinburgh’s Marchmont, said: “We are just very frustrated with the whole situation. “If we had cancelled the flight and flown him to London there would have been a loophole but we thought this was the right thing to do and the least risk. “The whole process is all very draconian, but the most annoying thing is there seems to be no one we can contact to explain our situation.” Sami lives in Finland with his mother and has not been able to see his three-year-old sister in Scotland since July. His father last flew out to see him in October for his birthday but when Sami’s plans to visit at Christmas had to be cancelled the family decided they could wait no longer to be together. But on arrival, the family were devastated to be told he Sami must go immediately to a hotel for 11 nights. They were left with no choice but to pay the £2,400 bill up front for Antonio to be with him at the Hilton Doubletree. Antonio has to be tested for Covid-19 on his exit from the hotel but his son does not need to be tested due to his age. He said: “Sami is obviously very frustrated. It was really shocking for him and his sister at the airport. “She was so excited to see him so we took her along. She’s only three and was expecting to see her brother come home then all of a sudden her dad and her brother were gone and she couldn’t process it.

. “We have all his Christmas presents at the house for him and I’ve tried to cheer him up but he has his ups and downs throughout the day. “We’re only allowed out 15 minutes each day for an escorted walk in the car park. “One big challenge is motivating Sami to eat. He’s lost his appetite. “Reception gave me a number on Sunday to appeal but when I call it doesn’t exist. How can it be we have no way to even file a case? It’s just unacceptable. “Our MSP has said he will try to raise our case in the Scottish Parliament.” Antonio’s wife, another key worker who does not want to be named, told how she has dropped off food at the hotel because her stepson is not eating well enough. She said: “We just feel exceptional circumstances should be taken into consideration. “Sami is coming from Finland where during the whole of the pandemic they have been less than 750 deaths. “For a child under these circumstances we can’t see why he can’t isolate at home. “There are a long list exceptions for people who work so it just seems ludicrous that a small child can’t isolate at home. “It’s effectively an infringement of his human rights as a child because he’s not able to play, spend time with his family and is confined.
