A Cambridge school has paid tribute to a beloved teacher and sports coach who sadly died this week Hundreds of people, including friends and colleagues have come together to pay tribute to Thomas 'Tommy' Dann who tragically passed away this week. Mr Dann had been a teacher at The Perse school but more recently had been teaching at The Leys in Cambridge. Leys headmaster Martin Priestley said on social media: "This week we lost someone who made a positive impact on anyone who had the pleasure of meeting him. "Thomas Oliver Dann was a brilliant teacher, a caring and empathetic tutor, an inspiring sports coach, and a fantastic colleague. "Rest assured, when the time is right and when circumstances allow, we will get together as a school, as a community, to honour him and to celebrate his life and to remember the good times. "In the meantime, our thoughts are with his family and all those who are affected by his loss." Hundreds have since left heartfelt messages in tribute to Mr Dann. Flowers are being left in tribute to Mr Dann in the garden outside the Moulton boarding house on Brookside at the Leys, where Mr Dann was a tutor. The Leys posted a message on Twitter saying: "Please come individually, and we would ask that only one household is in the garden at any one time. "The garden will be open daily for the next few days from 10am until 4pm."
