PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! "Tributes have been paid to a Co Tyrone man whose tragic death in a weekend farming accident has shocked the local community. Anthony O’Neill (75) fell from a ladder at the silage pit on his farm on the Crockanboy Road in Rouskey, between Gortin and Greencastle, on Sunday evening.The father-of-six, who had strong connections with Gortin GAA, was found by his grandson.The Air Ambulance was sent to the scene however, despite the efforts of the medical team, Mr O’Neill could not be saved.Posting on Facebook, Gortin St Patrick’s GAA club said it was “shocked and deeply saddened” to hear of the passing of Mr O’Neill, who was “a long standing club trustee, former committee member and club stalwart, synonymous with football in Gortin.”Mr O’Neill’s son, Michael, told the newspaper that his father was a “good, honest and hardworking man” who will be sadly missed by the entire family.“Dad was very well respected in this area. It’s a terrible shock to us because he was always someone with a smile on his face who was in good health throughout his life,” Michael said.“Over the years he worked in Finlay’s and Kyle’s as a lorry driver.

. He and my mother were devoted to each other; she was the centre of his life.“Over the years he was very involved in Gortin football, but he wouldn’t have played that much.“His job was to come on with the magic water bottle any time one of the players went down. He was a dedicated clubman who preferred to stay in the background,” Michael added.Requiem Mass for Mr O’Neill will take place on Thursday morning at St Mary’s Church, Rousky with burial afterwards in the adjoining Cemetery.He is survived by his wife of more than 50 years, Emily, his children John (Celine), Michael (Karen), Peter (Siobhan), Cathal (Evelyn), Colm (Suzie) and Damian (Shauna), grandchildren, great grandchildren and siblings Sadie, Pat, Vincent, Michael, Julie and Gerard.The O’Neill family have requested, in lieu of flowers, for donations to be made to the Air Ambulance NI charity in Anthony’s memory.Donations can be made via McGuigan Funeral Directors, 57 Main Street, Gortin, Omagh." }
