PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! The heartbroken mum of a former Castle Douglas woman who died in hospital days after she attempted to take her own life has told how donating her girl’s organs has saved three men. Distraught Rochelle Gray told the News that Marley McCulloch, 24, “was still thinking of others until her last breath”. She said: “Marley had signed up to be an organ donor and her kidneys, liver and pancreas have saved the lives of three men. “Every day living without her is agonising but I’m so proud of the fact she always put other people before herself.” Marley was taken to Dumfries Infirmary on February 24 following an incident at her home but, despite the best efforts of staff, she died on March 2. Devastated Rochelle said: “She had moved to Dumfries from Castle Douglas in December and I’d hoped she’d be able to pick herself up. “She’d been totally isolated before but she continued to struggle with her mental health. “I was in a state of constant worry about her but thought when she moved and was just five minutes away from me, things would get better. “But she’d had enough. She just couldn’t take any more.” Rochelle received a call on February 24 telling her Marley was in hospital following an attempt at taking her own life. She was only allowed minutes with her daughter due to coronavirus rules and was frantic when staff told her Marley wasn’t expected to survive. She said: “It was an agonising week. After pleading with the doctors, I was allowed back in to see Marley the next day. “The staff went above and beyond and were absolutely brilliant with me when I was going through torture.

. “Being told I couldn’t be with my wee girl was horrific but when things deteriorated I was allowed to be with her and she died on March 2. “I just can’t get my head around what happened and I don’t think I’ll ever come to terms with it. “For so many years it was just me, Marley and my son Kyle. Now there’s just two of us.” After Marley died, Rochelle and Kyle, 26, were told she had voluntarily signed up to being an organ donor. Rochelle said: “She was always so selfless and I feel so very proud that her organs have saved the lives of three men. “In 2012 we both took part in Race For Life and the following year she shaved off her hair to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. “She was always so bright and beautiful, fun loving and could light up a room with her personality. “But then circumstances changed and her life fell apart.” After Marley died, her friend Darrell Robson started fundraising in her memory and will hold a number of events through this year. The cash will be split between Dumfriesshire and Stewartry Women’s Aid which helps women and children whose lives have been affected by domestic abuse; Support In Mind Scotland; Dumfries Kaleidoscope and Dumfries Infirmary Critical Care Unit. Darrell said: “There is a number of amazing services out there that can make a difference. Suicide doesn’t end the chances of life getting worse, it eliminates the possibility of it ever getting any better. You don’t have to suffer in silence.”
