PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! Heartbroken customers fear their possessions have been destroyed after a huge fire tore through a self-storage warehouse in Tameside this afternoon. Hundreds of firefighters are battling the blaze at the three-storey building on Holland Street in Denton tonight and are expected to be there until the morning. Greater Manchester Police has declared the blaze a 'major incident' as a number of homes have had to be evacuated and people in the area have been told to keep windows and doors closed. The M67 motorway had to be closed in both directions as thick, black smoke was visible for miles around. While fire crews continue to battle the fire, a number of MEN readers took to our Facebook page to express fears that items they have stored at the warehouse will be lost. One woman wrote: "We have everything in there, everything! "All our photos and memories and my mum's whole life was in that place, we couldn’t move it because of covid and now it’s all gone." Fire service area manager Stewart Forshaw, who is in charge of the incident said: "Around 125 firefighters are working incredibly hard to bring this incident under control. "The first crews on scene were met with a well-developed fire and more support was quickly mobilised to deal with the blaze. "The incident is causing a large smoke plume that is affecting the local community and can be seen across the county. I would ask those who are affected by the smoke to keep their doors and windows closed and to avoid the area.
