UK Manchester United told reason Amad is being held back by Solskjaer last minute news
PremierLeague-News.Com- The former Atalanta winger arrived at Man Utd in the January transfer window after his Old Trafford move had been agreed last summer.
PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! Former Manchester United winger Lee Sharpe believes Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has acted wisely in holding back youngster Amad from the first team. The 18-year-old, who arrived at United in January after they agreed a move from Atalanta last summer, is yet to start a senior game for the club. Despite paying a fee that could rise to £37million, depending on add-ons, United have only handed the Ivorian four substitute appearances so far — along with a string of Under-23 matches, Amad, however, could be in contention for a full debut in this week's Europa League quarter-final second leg against Granada and Sharpe is excited to see what he can produce in the future. Speaking to MEN Sport exclusively in conjunction with William Hill, Sharpe said: “I think he’s got huge ability. A very young lad, and he looks quite tiny to be fair, so I’d be a little bit concerned with the physicality of the Premier League with him first game in. "But I think given time around training and the first team I think he’ll be another good option. “I haven’t seen a lot of him, but I know he’s got loads of ability, goes past people and scores goals. “A training session is pretty much like a matchday, so he’ll be getting kicked and shoved around a little bit, so he’ll have to learn to stand up for himself and look after himself, so the manager will know that and he’ll know that. I’m sure it won’t be long before he gets his chance. To join a team like United is a big ask, but I’m sure he’s getting well looked after by the manager and the staff." Manchester United latest news Manchester United fought back superbly to beat Tottenham Hotspur 3-1 on Sunday afternoon. After a VAR row following United's disallowed goal in the first half, Son Heung-Min opened the scoring for Spurs.

On United's form in general, Sharpe admitted he has been impressed this season. But he wants Solskjaer's side to start games more consistently, using the recent victory over Tottenham as a template for the rest of the campaign. He added: “They’ve been fantastic in patches, when they’re on the front foot and they’re in the mood and they’re at it, they’re a really tough team to play against and they can be really impressive. “From Ole’s point of view the only negative from this season is the times when they’re not like that. They can start a bit slow, let a lot of early goals in and they’ve had to chase a lot of games. “It often takes something to get them going, whether it’s a goal against, an injustice of a decision — like the Son decision [against Spurs] — it can be difficult to pick the momentum up when the start slow. But if they start with intensity from the first whistle, they look unbeatable.”
