Sunseekers descended upon Piccadilly Gardens during last week's heatwave and the beautiful weather is set to continue, the Met Office predicts. Temperatures are set to rise to a balmy 23C by Thursday, with largely dry and sunny spells expected throughout most of the week. Tomorrow (Monday June 20) will start bright but chilly, meteorologists say, with plenty of sunshine as the day goes on and highs of 21C. Feeling warmer and perhaps very warm by Thursday." Temperatures are set to reach 23C (Image: Manchester Evening News) However, as Friday approaches, the weather could take a turn for the worst. The long-term forecast which covers June 24 to July 3 reads: "Generally unsettled start to the period with heavy showers and risk of hail and thunder likely across many areas, especially the south, and more prolonged rain possible in the northwest on Friday.
