PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! Pep Guardiola reacted to Manchester City's fortunate Champions League win over Borussia Dortmund by suggesting the Blues had finally got the benefit of a refereeing controversy. Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham was denied what seemed to be a good goal as he charged down an attempted clearance by Ederson and ran the ball into the empty net. But ref Ovidiu Hategan had blown for a free-kick to the Blues, as he deemed that the young England star had raised his studs in challenging for the ball. Because he had blown his whistle for that offence before the ball entered the net, it meant there could be no VAR review, so City escaped what would have likely been an overturning of the decision and an equaliser. City went on to win the game 2-1 ahead of next week's second leg, but Guardiola indicated that it was time they got the rub of the green. Asked if he was worried by Bellingham's disallowed goal, the City boss said: "Listen, better not to talk about Champions League refs, I’m not going to speak now. "We have a huge list about this kind of situation in this competition so it’s better to make no comment. The ref made this decision." Guardiola was sent off for remonstrating with Lahoz. The following year, City suffered again when a late goal from Fernando Llorente was allowed even though one TV angle showed it had been handled, with the VAR failing to view the relevant angle. And last season, against Lyon, Aymeric Laporte was tripped in the build-up to the French side's second goal, but again the offence was not spotted by either the officials on the pitch or the video ref.

. Bellingham was denied a legitimate goal (Image: PAUL ELLIS/AFP via Getty Images) The Norway international looked a little bemused but did as he was asked, as players from both teams filed past. The act was criticised by BT Sport pundit Owen Hargreaves, who said it was out of order for an official to ask a player to sign an autograph. Guardiola was not too bothered after hearing what had happened, saying: "They told me, I didn’t see it, maybe he’s a fan. "Why not? The referees were brilliant, the game was not a problem. Not a penalty, the VAR said that. And the leg is higher from Bellingham. So they were perfect and it was correct. Maybe it was for his son or daughter. "It happens but they did a good job, that’s all. Nothing happened." It was difficult to tell whether he was being sarcastic or not!
