PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! Succeeding in business can be a challenge, but the pride and sense of achievement from being your own boss and setting out your own goals and standards can be a driving force for people like Ian McLaren and Sam Williamson. Friends and co-workers for many years, they had known all about the struggles to find the right direction and make sense of the job market. For them the lightbulb moment was working together for a CBD company, where they recognised the future of the sector and knew there was only one way ahead - they had to leave their jobs, take a leap of faith and set up CBDiablo on their own. "We are both website and internet geeks and came into the marketing side of the CBD industry back in 2017 by chance," said Ian. "We learned a lot about cannabis from our work and saw the potential that the Hemp plant could unlock, so by early 2019 when we had become frustrated by our roles we started to plan ahead." Sam Williamson of CBDiablo Getting to that transformational point wasn't an easy path for Ian. As a younger man, he struggled with his life and openly admits to periods of dark depression when he desperately needed someone to talk to and understand what he was going through. So now he and Sam have made a bold move by committing 20 per cent of CBDiablo's profits to The Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), a leading campaigner against suicide. Every week 125 people in the UK take their own lives, with males making up 75% of that number, and Ian knows he could have ended up as part of that percentage. So succeeding in business now and making sure more money goes to CALM is a driving force for him and Sam. "It means a lot to me personally because I struggled with my mental health as a teenager which grew into suicidal thoughts and anxiety," he said. "I became quite unwell at university with recurrent chest infections and went into a spiral of depression and had a really tough time getting into my twenties. Myself and Sam have five brothers between us and we have all suffered to some degree with our mental health, and it hasn’t always been easy to discuss our struggles openly." "So when we set up CBDiablo it was important for us to find the right place to support - we really wanted to support an organisation that would really represent us as people. CALM just made sense because talking about how you feel and the impact it is having on your life is more important than ever, certainly during the pandemic.

. "The whole point of the business wasn't to make us super-rich, it was to have the feeling that we had achieved something. It's what keeps us going and after only 18 months in business we are growing month on month. It is great to see that people seem to be attaching themselves to that ethos." As you would expect from talking to these two guys, the same sense of pride and responsibility extends to the products they sell, and while the people behind the company logo have a very personal story to tell, you can also clearly see their professionalism and experience in CBDiablo's range of CBD products. Sam said that he and Ian felt let down by the way some CBD companies conduct themselves and by the way mental health issues are dealt with in the UK. "Most brands in our industry seemed pretty boring, so we hope that we're playing a part in improving these things," he said. "The idea behind our brand is doing some good with something that sometimes has bad connotations - Hemp and Cannabis. We have gone to extreme lengths to research and develop our oils, capsules, gummies and other products using the knowledge we have picked up over the years. "Now we are at the point where we feel we have put together a range that can rival the most established CBD brands in the UK. "There are a lot of unknowns when it comes to Cannabinoids, and we pride ourselves on providing products which are industry-leading in quality, research and development. From the formulas we use, to farming methods employed, to CO2 extraction methods, every aspect of our products must be as good as can be achieved. "Whatever our stories are - and we hope they will help people - the star of the show must be what's in the bottle." For more about CBDiablo, have a look around the website here.
