UK Family pay tribute to 'lovely' mum found dead at home alongside ex-partner last minute news
PremierLeague-News.Com- Shirley Jones' daughter says the family are 'in the dark' about how the pair died
PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! The family of a woman found dead alongside her ex-partner have paid tribute to the 'lovely' mum-of-three. Shirley Jones, 55, was looking forward to becoming a great-gran for the first time, her daughter said. She was found dead on the bedroom floor of a house in St Helens on Easter Monday when neighbours became concerned that they had not heard from them after making a roast dinner for them the previous day. Colin Jackson, Miss Jones' on-off boyfriend, was found dead on the sofa in the living room. Miss Jones' daughter Lisa-Jane, from Widnes, told our sister title the Liverpool Echo that her mum was a "lovely person who kept herself to herself." "She was a full-time mum, one of three, I used to live at the bottom of the street growing up, and then when we grew up and moved away, she went to the house at the top of the street, where she was with Colin," Lisa-Jane said. "We're still in shock, we hadn't seen her for a while because of Covid. "Mum loved music and was an animal lover, she was a dog lover but hadn't had one after her last passed away, she didn't have the heart to get another. "She would usually spend time with friends." Police are investigating the deaths (Image: Liverpool Echo) Lisa-Jane explained that the family were "in the dark" about how the tragedy happened. "We still don't know what happened or how her and Colin died, we've just been told there'll be an inquest," she said. She added that her mum was about to become a great-grandparent for the first time and already had seven grandchildren. "It's really awful what's happened, 55 is no age," she said. "But we're all in the dark about what happened. "Mum was a lovely person.

Residents said Miss Jones had lived on the street for around 25 years and had previously been in a relationship with Colin, who would live in the house occasionally, but they were not together at the present time. Yesterday, police said they were not treating the incident as suspicious. Post mortem examinations have been carried out but the results are being withheld pending the results of further tests. It is understood the cause of death will be known in the coming weeks.

The pair were found when the concerned neighbour entered the house through an unlocked back door, after banging on windows and doors at the front of the house. Flowers have been left at the front gate of the property, with one bunch reading: "To dad, rest in paradise, love you endlessly, Gemma." In a statement on Tuesday, Merseyside Police said: "We can confirm that emergency services were in St Helens following the unexplained deaths of two people found yesterday, Monday 5 April. "At around 5.50pm, police and ambulance were called to a home on Mersey Street to a call reporting that a man and woman in their 50s had been found inside, following concerns for their safety. "They were sadly confirmed deceased a short time later and next of kin have been made aware and are being supported by officers. "Both deaths are being treated as unexplained as enquiries continue at the location."
