The Brazilian chaired a meeting with the playing squad at the beginning of January in which he told his teammates some much-needed home truths, that they needed to start giving their all again. The meeting had an instant impact as the Blues went on to defeat Chelsea, despite missing eight players due to coronavirus, and then went on a history-making 21 game winning streak which turned the title race in their favour. Goalkeeper Ederson has praised Fernandinho for holding the meeting and getting City back on track.
