PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! A developer has appealed against an order to demolish his partially built seven-bedroom house which neighbours described as a 'monstrosity'. Amir Ali was ordered to halt construction on the project on Plodder Lane, Farnworth, in 2019 after an investigation found that the dwelling was larger than had been agreed by council planners. When planning permission was granted, it was to extend a pair of neighbouring houses and merge them into one large detached home. But residents complained that the project had become a 'monstrosity' which was overpowering the neighbourhood. An investigation found that a dormer window was larger than had been agreed and the building's footprint also exceeded the dimensions under the original plans. It was 0.59m wider, 0.52m deeper and 0.50m taller than had been allowed by planners. In a report lodged with Bolton Council along with retrospective plans, consultants AZH said: “Work on site stopped in order establish how best to address the errors. “The contractor who undertook the work is no longer appointed on the project.” The council issued an enforcement notice for the structure to be pulled down, prompting the applicant Amir Ali, to appeal to the planning inspectorate. Gaynor Young was among neighbours who criticised the development The report, said: “In light of the planning committee refusing to grant planning permission, an appeal has been lodged with the planning inspectorate in order to gain an independent assessment.

. ” Neighbours have previously described the property as a ‘monstrosity’ which has become ‘overpowering’ and ‘intimidating’. The development in Plodder Lane A spokesman for local residents said: “The fact is the increase of length and depth adds some 17 square metres of area to both the ground and first floors, allowing what was originally planned and approved as a four to five bedroomed house to now become a six to seven bedroomed house." In December, 2019, the developer was asked by the planning committee to address concerns over a dormer window on the top floor which residents in Tig Fold Road feared would look into their children’s bedrooms. In the revised plans the dormer element has bow been taken out of the plans. The report said: “The dormer has proved to be a very contentious issue. “Rather than seek permission for a smaller dormer, the applicant has now taken the step of removing the dormer completely. “The removal of the dormer and provision of obscure glazing to the rear first floor provides a level of privacy beyond what can be typically expected and which goes beyond that which existed with the semi-detached properties that previously occupied the site. “It is regrettable that this application has drawn so much attention. “In planning policy terms the 2019 application was deemed acceptable by planning officers, but was not accepted by some planning committee members and some members of the public. “It is hoped the above explanations into the design and the removal of the dormer will allow for the wider acceptance of the scheme.” Planners will make a decision on the plans at a date yet to be decided.
