PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! It has weathered the storm in the past but Jenny Connor's marriage to Johnny is being put to the test by a new affair scandal on Coronation Street. The Rovers Return landlady's head is turned by newcomer Ronnie Bailey who turned up on the cobbles in February. When he stays at the Rovers B&B, while Johnny is in prison for an historic armed robbery, the chemistry between the pair is undeniable. Charmed by smooth-talking Ronnie she gives in to temptation in the ITV soap. Then there's major drama when Ronnie's wife Kat rocks up and Johnny comes home. Jenny hits it off with Ronnie Speaking about the spicy new storyline for her character, actress Sally Ann Matthews said: "I was like 'oh, blimey, there’s a turn up for the books!’ But I can completely see how it happened. "She is fiercely loyal, she’s flirty, she’d flirt with a packet of crisps, it gets her through the day and she’s always been like that anyway - it’s not that it comes with the landlady territory. But I can see how it’s happened. "Ronnie has moved into the B&B and even though the viewers haven’t seen it, Jenny’s been running the pub, going to visit Johnny, coming back, and Ronnie’s charming and chatty, and they’ve probably been in the back room watching Beat The Chasers and getting angry at the telly and watching The Circle, wondering who’s going to be an influencer, all of that, and who’s getting blocked, together, and having a right good laugh, and actually that’s probably been a huge relief and a release for Jenny. So they’ve developed a friendship. Jenny visiting Johnny in prison "It’s just that you haven’t really seen it, but you’ve seen it in the scenes that Jenny and Ronnie have had together, their initial scene when they met and he was winding her up, and then another scene that transmitted last week, that they’ve formed a friendship, and he’s also the other man in the house at the minute. "And that’s what it is, I think she’s just remembering what her life was like before all this angst. Love Corrie? Sally Ann is glad to see her character smiling again after a miserable time with Johnny, who went to prison in January after his past caught up with him when his old friend Scott Emberton tried to rope him into a robbery at the bistro. Ronnie Bailey (Image: ITV) Behind bars, Johnny, who in the past had a fling with Liz McDonald, suffered hallucinations when he was convinced he could see his late son Aidan, who took his own life. The character, played by Richard Hawley, has been suffering from complications of his multiple sclerosis diagnosis. As well as going blind, he has been struggling with his mobility because of his debilitating illness. In February he was diagnosed with Charles Bonnet Syndrome, a condition some people get when they lose their vision, causing them to have visual hallucinations and he was brutally attacked by his prison cellmate when he suspected that the older man was a drug dealer after spotting his MS medication. Jenny and Johnny have had their problems (Image: ITV) Sally Ann explained: "Johnny has put her through the mill with everything, from the MS diagnosis and then calling off the engagement, to then they get married to then he decides he’s going to make her a partner in the factory, then he changes his mind, he’s going to retire and they’re going to move to Spain and she’s like 'oh right, okay’, even though she didn’t want to do that. "Then of course Aidan’s suicide and he blames her for a lot of that because of her relationship with Aidan, then his affair with Liz, then he buys The Rovers without telling her, then Scott and his criminal past - she’s put up and accepted a lot because she loves him, and I think it’s just been adding and adding and adding and this latest stint in prison with the medication has been pretty much the straw that broke the camel’s back in a way." Sally Ann says that after 'doing the deed' with Ronnie she feels dreadful.

. And then his stunning wife Kat struts in. Ronnie's wife Kat was last seen on the cobbles in March "That proper gets on Jenny's wick and then when Jenny finds out it's his wife then Jenny can't decide what is worse, that she's cheated on Johnny or that Ronnie has used her like a two-bit trollop," said Sally Ann. "She feels like she bought everything he was saying and that he's a married man and he's just used her and is a notch. She's furious with Ronnie." Speaking about the awkward moment when Johnny arrives home unexpectedly, just as Ronnie is trying to explain himself, she said: "She's about to crumble when 'surprise! here I am with a bunch of flowers!' - the jailbird has come home." Viewers will be left wondering if she'll fall back in Johnny's arms or pursue a future with her new man. "She desperately loves Johnny but it's that no matter how much you love someone if it's causing you a pretty constant circle of pain is it worth it? Is it healthy? Would we be happier on our own?" wondered Sally Ann. And as for her meddling stepdaughter Daisy, who has been trying to stick the knife into her marriage with Johnny, she said: "I don't think she is worried. Johnny comes home "I think she thinks she can control it and that if she wants Daisy to behave herself then Daisy will behave herself and she trusts that Daisy loves her and she will meet her at that position. "If that trust was to be broken Jenny would be devastated." Viewers have been enjoying Jenny's sparring scenes with Sharon Bentley played by Tracie Bennett who viewers learned is the aunt of fearsome drugs lord Harvey. "Jenny turns into Weatherfield's answer to Angela Lansbury pulling pints and that's the opening titles instead of a typewriter, on the trail," she joked. "Like Jenny from Gogglebox with notes about what Sharon's done." And she'd love to see a big confrontation between Rita Tanner's two former foster daughters. "Oh, would I?" she enthused. "Anything with Tracie is just a joy to do. We work really well together and it's hysterical. It's so soapy but so unique." Reflecting on what she enjoys most about playing Jenny she said: "That she's bonkers. She can pretty much go anywhere that's what I like." She added: "If the audience ever predicted how I would react then I've failed. "They should know that obviously Jenny and Sharon will have some fireworks but I do also like to try and surprise the audience by not screaming and shouting and taking it down or vice versa. "I love doing that. "I love the soap and I love the genre. It's a very special life to be in."
