Emergency services rushed to the Salford flat where a devoted dad lay dying after a chilling 999 call was made from a man who claimed to have stabbed someone. An inquest into the death of 41-year-old Hubert Kacperek opened at Bolton Coroner's Court on Friday, May 14. Police coroner's officer Andrew Pickles told the hearing that a man made a 999 call at 11.07am on Monday, April 12, where he claimed he had stabbed someone. Police and paramedics rushed to the scene at Liverpool Road, Eccles, with emergency services desperately trying to save Mr Kacperek, but the much-loved dad was pronounced dead at the scene. Dr Wilson, a pathologist for the Home Office, confirmed that Mr Kacperek's cause of death was a stab wound to the chest. Two 34-year-old men were arrested on suspicion of Mr Kacperek's murder, but both have been released without charge. One man has been released on bail, whilst the other has been released with no further action to be taken. (Image: STEVE ALLEN) A police investigation is ongoing. Area coroner for Manchester West Alan Walsh released Mr Kacperek's body so it could be repatriated back to his family in Poland, and extended his condolences to those bereaved by his death. Speaking after Mr Kacperek was stabbed, friends paid tribute to the father-of-one, originally from Poland. Close friend Krzysztof Glydziak described Mr Kacperek as 'a really good guy'. Mr Glydziak said Mr Kacperek moved to the UK from Poland around five-years-ago. After settling in Manchester, he did a number of different jobs, including working as a gardener. He ended up sleeping rough last year and moved into emergency accommodation. Friends said he moved to the flat in Eccles just weeks before his death.
