PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! Stockport Gin has revealed plans to open a new distillery in Stockport town centre, hosting gin tours and tasting evenings. The new site marks a 'huge step up' for the business, which started life in the garage at the home of its husband-and-wife founders. Paul and Cheryl Sharrocks launched the craft gin business in 2019 and have already scooped awards for their spirits. Work is now underway to transform the site near Market Place, with hopes to have it fully operational by summer this year. The 2,000 sq ft site, spanning two storeys, will include a retail outlet where visitors can buy Stockport Gins, as well as other products from local suppliers. Paul added: "We have known for some time that we need to move to larger premises if we are to continue to grow the business, but we also want to create a place for people to come to and see exactly what we do and how we do it.

." In a post on Facebook, the couple said: "It's a HUGE step for us, moving out of our little garage at home (where you couldn't swing a cat... although no cats allowed!), into a 2 story, 2,000 square foot, town centre, real life, actual distillery, in the middle of lockdown, when 90% of our stockists are closed... now having rent, bills, and rates to pay, as well as paying for all the re-furb work, in the same month as Paul left his 'day' job to work for Stockport Gin full time. Eeeekkkk! "Some might call us brave, some might say mad, but 2 years ago we had a little dream and just decided to go for it! "We want to bring something FRESH and NEW to Stockport Town Centre, for the people of Stockport and beyond!"
