. That's not salt from the road that's something else. "I walked both down and back up that road and it was still covered quite bad." A spokeswoman for Northern Powergrid said: “We were alerted to a situation on Manchester Road around 3.40pm today. "Our engineer arrived on site around 4pm following reports of two dogs experiencing a low voltage electric shock whilst walking on the footpath and their owner receiving a shock after handling the animals. "The area was secured and our engineer quickly isolated supplies on this section of the network resulting in a temporary power cut for 85 customers in the local area."Our teams are on-site investigating the underground cable and nearby local authority lamppost to understand the cause. "We are doing everything possible to get our affected customers back on supply as soon as we can and we thank them for their patience."Situations such as this are very rare and our thoughts are with the lady, who did not require medical treatment, and her dogs, which were taken to the local vets to be checked."
