PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! It is five years ago to the day that Sheffield Wednesday beat Brighton and Hove Albion in the first leg of the Championship play-off semi-finals. Under the lights at a raucous Hillsborough, Carlos Carvalhal's men delivered on the big stage and took a giant step towards sealing their place at Wembley. Goals either side of half-time from Ross Wallace and Kieran Lee memorably sealed a 2-0 win. Despite prevailing over two legs against the Seagulls, the Owls came up short in the showpiece final, losing 1-0 to Hull City. Things have not gone well since their promotion near miss, with Wednesday suffering relegation to League One this season. Here is how Wednesday fans have reacted on Twitter to the anniversary: @ChrisEason84: "It's so depressing to see how far we've fallen back in such a short time. I honestly thought we were on the edge of something really special. @_lewissteers: "Was some night that. What a team. @JackBottom7: "What a night! What an atmosphere! And what a shambles we are now! Looking back at this hurts a little." @Roemeister86: "What a night. How did we get it so wrong after this?" @johnada75157425: "To go from this to now in five years is disgraceful from Chansiri tbh." What a ground." @LukeLaister: "That game and the Arsenal game for me were the best at Hillsborough for atmosphere but Wembley was something else. The stadium was literally bouncing.
