Sheffield Wednesday's technical director, Peter Bijvelds, has confirmed that the club have received interest in striker Sylla Sow from Dutch side, De Graafschap. The Owls signed the 25-year-old Dutchman from RKC Waalwijk following the expiration of his contract, in an attempt to bolster their attacking options ahead of the 2021/22 season. But just four goals in 17 appearances were to follow, in what was a disappointing season for the striker, which has prompted a potential move back to his homeland. Speculation around Sow's immediate future continued to circulate following his absence from Wednesday's matchday squad for their opening day draw against Portsmouth.
