South Yorkshire Police confirmed they were called to reports of "numerous men" fighting in Earl Marshal Road, Burngreave last night shortly before 8pm. At around 8pm a man in his early 20s arrived at Northern General Hospital with "serious injuries" and sadly died a short time later. A large police cordon has remained on the street today with multiple forensic officers still at the scene. Those who live down the street say that they were left in shock as it is a family area. One man, who wanted to remain anonymous, said: "I just can't believe it. "It is a family area, a lot of families live down this street and it's close to a school. "It's not something that you want to see happen where you live - especially when it was a fight in the street.
