Officers have taped off the area and stand guard at the scene and the bike rider is in a critical condition in hospital. Road closures are currently in place around Byron Street at the junction of Barkerend Road, and drivers are being diverted and asked to avoid the area where possible. It is not clear if the casualty was on a push bike or a motorbike. A spokesperson for the police said: "At 6.38am this morning police were called to Byron Street, Bradford to reports of a car and bike in collision. The male rider of the bike has been taken to hospital in a critical condition. "The driver of the car stopped at the scene. Road closures are currently in place around Byron Street at the junction of Barkerend Road.
