PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! Huddersfield Town’s January target Kayden Jackson finds himself in the midst of a storm at Ipswich, with boss Paul Lambert accusing him of ‘letting the club down. The former Barnsley forward was heavily linked with a move to the Terriers during the late stages of the January transfer window. A move never materialised though, and Jackson has since found himself out of favour with Lambert at Portman Road. The Ipswich boss slammed the 26-year-old for what he described as a “horrendous challenge” as he was sent off against Sunderland on January 26. Jackson publicly apologised for the challenge on Twitter, but that has seemingly not appeased his manager. Jackson has been joined in his punishment by team-mate Jon Nolan, who reportedly asked Lambert why he had been taken for a game at Crewe, only to be left out of the squad when he could have been at home with his wife and baby. “I won’t have any player come to me and say to me that they’d rather be home with their wife and kids. If that’s your mentality you’re better doing it,” Lambert said. To sign up to our daily Huddersfield Town newsletter, click here. “I need players that are going to dig in. We’re in a real hard moment and you need players that are going to dig in. I’m not having it. I’ve never had any player do that. “I’m not naming names or anything like that. "But I’ve never had any player at any level – and I’ve played at the top level and managed at the top level – and I’ve never had anybody saying that to me.

Jackson defended his professionalism on Twitter before Lambert’s comments, saying: “Seen talk of me training with the U23s due to transfers not materialising and me wanting out of Ipswich. “I am a PROFESSIONAL football player and will always carry myself as such. Wherever I am, my desire to win and perform for my club will never be questioned.” Lambert also denied there had been any interest in Jackson during the January window, saying: "Nobody came in, that was the thing. So you can’t go anywhere if nobody comes in for you." He said: “There was interest in Kayden later on in the window, but it wasn’t something that club felt was really of interest going forward. “We just didn’t feel it was the right deal for the club at the moment. Like I said, I’m not going to go into specifics about the deal or who it was but in that particular case it was not something that was a good deal for the football club.”
