PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! On paper, it was a move that ticked all the right boxes. Izzy Brown arrived at Sheffield Wednesday in the summer on a season-long loan from Premier League giants Chelsea. Despite this being his seventh temporary spell away from Stamford Bridge, the right noises were made by both his new club and Brown himself. Brown said he wanted to take the chance with both hands and ensure his career kicked on - and Wednesday wanted someone to complement the likes of Barry Bannan and Massimo Luongo in the middle of the park. Yorkshire Football App - Owls Yorkshire Live has launched a new dedicated football app to bring you the one stop shop for all Sheffield Wednesday news. Download the app by clicking here https://smarturl.it/YorkshireFactbox Ex-Owls boss Garry Monk made Brown his third summer signing and spoke after his unveiling about how important this season was for the 24-year-old and the quality that he could bring. Monk said at the time: "I think it is an important season for Izzy. He has got fantastic ability and we all know that. He adds competition and quality." Indeed, Brown started the Owls' first three league games before picking up an injury. Since then he has barely featured under first Monk and then during the short-lived Tony Pulis era. Brown has played just 382 minutes of Wednesday's Championship campaign and the past few months have seen him restricted to brief cameos off the bench. The last ten games in all competitions have seen him play a grand total of 56 minutes. With regards to his future at Hillsborough, Chelsea have recently been recalling a number of their players from loan spells in a bid to get them more regular action. . Yorkshire Live understands that Chelsea's stance is no different with regards to Izzy Brown and that they can recall him if they wish to do so this month. The London club may well decide that the meagre game time he has been afforded in the first half of the season means he would be best suited out on loan somewhere else. There is reported interest from other Championship clubs who would be keen to utilise Brown more than Wednesday have done so far. Blackburn Rovers and Reading are just two clubs being mooted as potential destinations for Brown, should he be re-deployed this month. There were also murmurings of a potential return to Huddersfield Town, one of Brown's former loan clubs and a side who he helped reach the Premier League a few seasons back. But Yorkshire Live's Terriers writer Steven Chicken understands that the club are not actively pursuing such a deal, with the rumours appearing to have emerged through dubious social media claims. With regards to his situation at Chelsea, Brown has played just once for his parent club since he signed in 2013. His contract expires at the end of the campaign although it's understood there is an option to extend his stay by a further year. Speaking to Yorkshire Live earlier in the season, Brown refused to give up on forcing his way through at Stamford Bridge. "I will never say never but it is going to be tough. "You always have to keep the belief in yourself that one day anything is possible. We will wait and see what happens." Aden Flint has already returned to parent club Cardiff City after sustaining a hamstring injury that required surgery. The Owls' other loanee is Jack Marriott, who joined in October from Derby on a season-long loan. As part of the agreement, the Rams inserted a January recall clause and we understand Derby have until the middle of this month to decide whether to activate the option.
