PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! Chris Wilder is urging his Sheffield United players 'not to waste the opportunity' and build on yesterday's 1-0 victory over Newcastle. The Blades finally recorded their first league win of the season at the 18th time of asking courtesy of Billy Sharp's second half penalty. The game was not short on incident, with Newcastle reduced to 10-men in the first half and Sharp's spot-kick coming after referee Andrew Madley visited his pitchside monitor. It was also their first clean sheet of the season as Wilder expressed his delight for keeper Aaron Ramsdale. It's now two wins in the space of four days and with two home games to come in the league and cup Wilder is hoping his players take this form in to Sunday's clash at home to Tottenham. The Blades boss was also asked to provide a transfer update in his after-match press conference and his thoughts on the game's two big decisions. Here is every word he had to say after yesterday's victory. How big a result is that? "I thought the performance was good. "It might get talked about that the sending off made it easier for us to dictate the gamer and obviously the penalty. I felt it was coming, first half especially we set the game up to give us a foothold to go and win the game. "I thought we had an identity. "I've talked to the players about it. We have slipped a little bit but that was us. Handbrake off, playing well and going for it. I was delighted with the performance it's a big result because of the length of time we have not had one." . We have been after one of these results for a long, long time. "I have said it all along I think that has been coming. "We have lost so many games by a single goal and we need to take our big opportunities and we took our big opportunity and we kept a clean sheet as well. "Delighted for Aaron but we have to build on it. I am a down-to-earth manager and we are back in tomorrow and working towards a huge game on Sunday. "I want us to be competitive in terms of performances and results and we have shown that we are that competitive side. "A lot of teams would vouch for that but the obvious fact is that we have not won for a long, long, time and that is always the thing that everybody looks at and most importantly I do. "We used Saturday. It might not look a spectacular result at Bristol but it helped the players and they used that to take it into tonight and now the key is to take it forward." Latest on transfers, any players in before weekend? "I have not really thought about that over last 24, 48 hours. Always working towards the next game." You wanted players in, frustrated nothing happened? "What will be will be." "It wasn't a backs-against-the-wall job. They have a really talented squad. I have seen some games in the Premier League and wondered 'how the hell has this team won?' but I didn’t feel like that. "I thought we were in control and we pushed, we defended well and we moved them about and we went after a win. "There was an identity that represents what I want to see and what we have all seen for a quite a long time. "We have done OK this season and teams maybe scratching their heads as to why we are only on two points but that's the cold facts of it and we have added a vital three to that. "We still have an incredible challenge ahead of us but if we can make it interesting and competitive and no one's throwing the towel in, it was a good performance and one of a desire to go and win a football match." (Image: Stu Forster/Getty Images) Two yellows and VAR "In this Premier League world now that we live in and the decisions that get made, I thought there were two fair decisions for the yellow cards. "I have not seen the penalty but I am told it’s the correct one but the manner of the performance was decent from us and one that we can hopefully build on."
