PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! Gangs of young people wielding weapons are terrorising residents of some streets in the Almondbury area of Huddersfield, according to one Kirklees councillor. Clr Bernard McGuin (Con, Almondbury) says he has been approached by residents on "two or three occasions" who have raised concerns of "gangs coming out to particular streets with weapons". He says the incidents are not being reported to the police. According to Clr McGuin, the most recent incident happened yesterday evening (Monday) and left residents so scared that they did not want to come out of their homes. But the Conservative ward councillor has described the situation as "really difficult" as he claims those affected by the 'gangs' do not want to put their name to a complaint. "It has been ongoing for a while. There's gangs of 20, so they are breaking Covid restrictions anyway. "The thing is, the people who are witnessing this are not coming forward to the police because they do not want to put their name to a complaint, so it's a really difficult situation.

But hopes of a youth club were dashed recently when Left Jab Boxing - a small events company in the area - failed to secure a long term lease at Almondbury Sports Centre. He added: "We wanted Left Jab Boxing to take over the sports centre to give the kids something to do in the evening but they can't get a long enough lease. "The long term solution is to have more youth provision in the area and I'm sorry that Left Jab can not get what they want. "In my opinion, it would have been in the best interests of the community." West Yorkshire Police was approached for comment.
