Already, equipment donated via the partnership is being utilised by pupils and benefitting them with learning at home, but there is still a shortfall in providing the same facility to many others. So far, five laptops have helped 12 children with their education, whilst three mobile phones have helped provide nine children with internet access. Benefitting from the partnership are Wardle Academy, Matthew Moss High School, St James’ CofE Primary School, St Andrew’s CE Primary School and Nursery, and Kentmere Academy and Nursery. Murray Knight, of Rotary Club of Rochdale East, said: “Millions of children are unable to access online education. “Thousands of these are in the Greater Manchester area, with some of the most deprived living here in the Rochdale borough.

. Many thanks in anticipation for your assistance in providing these young people the opportunity to continue their education in these very difficult times.” All equipment will be wiped of personal data before being passed to a child. If you have an unused laptop or notebook, tablet or smartphone that could be put to better use, please contact either Murray Knight or Frank Hauxwell and they will do the rest, and answer any questions you may have regarding the project.
