PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! The race to sign Borussia Dortmund starlet Erling Haaland is already shaping up to be the transfer saga of the summer. The Norway international, who has been in formidable form for the German club this season, scoring 33 goals in 33 appearances, is being target by a whole host of clubs across Europe ahead of the transfer window opening in a few months time. English trio Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United are all understood to be in the running for the former Red Bull Salzburg man, as are Spanish heavyweights Barcelona and Real Madrid. Last week, Haaland's agent - Mino Raiola - travelled to Spain to speak with Barcelona and Madrid bosses to gather an understanding of their long-term plans and how Haaland, should he join one of those two clubs, fit into their plans. Haaland, although he does not turn 21 until July, is already considered as one of the very best players in world football, a claim which can be backed up with strong evidence when looking at his goals tally. Since the start of the 2019/20 season, the Norwegian, who was born in Leeds, has scored 77 goals at club level. That is a truly staggering figure. With that tally in mind, it is little wonder that clubs are being linked with £100million-plus moves for the striker, who is predicted, certainly by some, to overtake Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo as the greatest player in the world in years to come. And that is why the Dortmund star is attracting praise from some of the very best currently in the business, including Bayern Munich and Poland star Robert Lewandowski. Speaking to CBS Sports on Paramount+, the Bayern star said: “He’s a great player. He has huge potential and he’s still very young. "If I see his face and how hungry he is to score goals. In the future, he has a chance to be the best striker in the world, for sure. "But sometimes when everything is going well, it’s really not easy. But if you see him, he has scored so many goals and he’s so young." Lewandowski also admitted: “It’s great to play in the Bundesliga and it’s great to see a young player in this league and compare. Earlier this week, ahead of the first-leg of their respective UEFA Champions League quarter-final against Dortmund, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola heaped praise on Haaland's shoulders.

For Haaland, at the age of just 20, to be attracting such encouraging praise from arguably the best striker and best manager in the world speaks volumes about his potential and what is thought about him. Whether he will leave Dortmund this forthcoming summer remains to be seen, with the winner of his signature likely to be forced to pay well over £100million to stand any chance of getting a deal over the line. However, should there be a winner, they will be laying their hands on a player with the world at his feet. Should the lucky winner be Chelsea, he would add a significant boost to their attacking options, with Timo Werner's maiden season in England not having gone according to plan. The German has scored just ten goals in 41 appearances this season, as well as having scored just once since Tuchel took charge at Stamford Bridge towards the end of January.
