PremierLeague-News.Com - Chelsea face Leicester City in the final of the FA Cup at Wembley on Saturday evening, aiming to win their first trophy of the Thomas Tuchel era
PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! Chelsea will be looking to secure their first piece of silverware of the Thomas Tuchel era when they lock horns with Leicester City in the 2020/21 Emirates FA Cup final on Saturday evening. The Blues, who suffered a shock 1-0 home defeat at home to Arsenal on Wednesday evening in the Premier League, secured their spot in the final last month with a 1-0 semi-final triumph over Manchester City. A day later, Leicester joined them in booking their spot in the showpiece event, beating Southampton by the same scoreline thanks to a second half winner from Nigerian ace Kelechi Iheanacho. In truth, despite Chelsea having won the FA Cup six times already in this century alone, it is hard to determine a favourite ahead of kick-off, with Leicester currently above the Blues in the Premier League table. However, the west London club, aside from the slip-up against Arsenal, are thriving under Tuchel and will fancy their chances. Like most finals, it could well prove to be that a moment of individual brilliance is the catalyst for getting the job done for either side, with both Chelsea and Leicester blessed with talent, certainly in the attacking areas. But whilst Tuchel will be hitching a plan to try and stop the likes of Youri Tielemans, James Maddison, Jamie Vardy and Iheanacho from weaving their magic, the German may also be coming up with a solution for how his own attacking players can get the better of Foxes centre-back Jonny Evans. That is because former Blues captain John Terry has previously waxed lyrical about the former Manchester United defender, so much so that he recently described him as the "most underrated defender" that the Premier League has to offer. The most underrated defender in the Premier League." Against the Baggies that night, Evans scored and helped the Foxes keep a clean sheet, further bolstering their top-four ambitions. Having been a key figure in the Foxes push for a UEFA Champions League spot this term, Leicester were rocked ahead of their 4-2 home defeat to Newcastle United last Friday evening when the Northern Ireland international was forced to pull out at the very last moment with a heel injury. As well as missing the defeat to the Magpies, Evans also missed Tuesday's 2-1 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford, sparking fears that he could be set to miss the trip to Wembley. However, Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers has eased those fears by admitting that the centre-back was looking "very good" during training on Thursday. Rodgers, as quoted by our sister title LeicestershireLive, said: “We’ll give him another day," he said in his pre-match press conference. "He’s progressed really well in this last 24 hours. "He was outside today and he looked very good. We’ll see what the reaction is after that and we’ll make the final decision on that tomorrow (Friday). We're really hopeful. “It’s a discussion between myself and Jonny. Ultimately, you’ve got to speak with the players. He’s a warrior, and if there's any which way he can play, even if he’s not 100 per cent, he’ll be out there."
