PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! Kevin De Bruyne is one of the world's best and most dangerous midfielders - of that there can be no question. He joined Manchester City in 2015 and has since gone on to shine on the highest stage, and has today (Wednesday) penned a new long-term contract with the club which runs until the summer of 2025. “I could not be happier,” he told City's club website. “Since joining City in 2015, I have felt at home. I love the fans, my family are settled here in Manchester and my own game has developed really well. “This football club is geared for success. It offers me everything I need to maximise my performance, so signing this contract was a straightforward decision. I am playing the best football of my career and I honestly feel there is more to come." After making just two Premier League appearances for Chelsea in three years at the club, De Bruyne decided it was time to head for pastures new as his career with the Blues struggled to get off the ground. The Belgian midfielder started two of the first four Premier League games under Jose Mourinho in 2013/14, but soon fell out of favour with the Portuguese manager as he preferred to use the likes of Willian, Oscar, Juan Mata and Andre Schurrle. Six months after starting his final game for the Blues, De Bruyne left London to join Wolfsburg. Fifty-one appearances and 13 goals later he was back in the Premier League when City paid a then club-record £55million to bring him back to England. The rest, as they say, is history. Speaking ahead of the Manchester derby last month to Sky Sports, De Bruyne opened up on why he decided to leave the Blues and try his luck in Germany. “I decided to go away because I felt I didn’t have any chances of playing at the time," he said. "I didn’t see more opportunities coming so for me, it was the best decision to leave Chelsea and go to a situation where I felt I could start again. “Did I expect it to go this way? Obviously not because at that time it was a low point in my career but I never had any doubt in my abilities as a football player. "There was so much in the press about my relationship with Jose Mourinho," De Bruyne said.

. The plan was always for me to go on loan for a bit. "Jose called me into his office in December, and it was probably the second big life-changing moment for me. He had some papers in front of him, and he said, 'One assist. Zero goals. Ten recoveries'. Tell Chelsea who to sign in the transfer window The summer transfer window is just around the corner. And the rumour mill is already starting to pick up speed. New Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel will surely be looking to strengthen the squad he was given when he took over from Frank Lampard and there have already been a number of top players linked with a move, including Erling Haaland. The striker is thought to be the Blues' number on transfer priority. But who would you sign? Get involved in our transfer window debate here. "It took me a minute to understand what he was doing. Then he started reading the stats of the other attacking forwards - Willian, Oscar, Mata, Schürrle. And it's like - five goals, 10 assists, whatever. "Jose was just kind of waiting for me to say something, and finally I said, 'But… some of these guys have played 15, 20 games. I've only played three. So it's going to be different, no?' "It was so strange. I was completely honest. I said, 'I feel like the club doesn't really want me here. I want to play football. I'd rather you sell me.'" The Blues have arguably regretted selling the midfielder ever since and a bumper new contract at City only goes to strengthen that point.
