PremierLeague-News.Com - The Blues look set to sign the Brighton defender this summer as their fourth signing
PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! Chelsea have reached a full agreement with Brighton to sign defender Marc Cucurella, according to Fabrizio Romano. The Spaniard has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester City too, but it seems as though the Blues have moved quickly to secure the left-back as their fourth signing of the summer window. The 24-year-old is set to sign for over £50million, a figure the Seagulls set that the Citizens were unable to match. Chelsea have already agreed personal terms with Cucurella, meaning only a medical and the signing of the contract should remain before an official announcement. The former Barcelona man is the second name to join the defence this summer, following the loss of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen as free agents. The new addition will join Kalidou Koulibaly in the backline, able to play as a full-back, wing-back and centre-back on the left. . “It's the same players so why should anything change? We will see hopefully development but at the moment we have the same issues because we have the same players." It's yet another key addition for the Blues, however there will be a player making a switch in the other direction. Romano claims that Chelsea academy prospect Levi Colwill is set to move to Brighton in a separate transfer deal. The 19-year-old impressed last campaign on loan at Championship side Huddersfield Town, guiding them to a playoff final, but just missing out on promotion to Nottingham Forest. His return to Stamford Bridge has brought about uncertainty surrounding his future, given the potential lack of first-team minutes. Plenty of sides have shown interest, however it seems as though the Seagulls have won that battle. The exchange may seem like a good short-term success for Tuchel's men, but it remains to be seen whether they will regret losing Colwill or if the move for Cucurella will work.
