PremierLeague-News.Com - Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno has spoken about his future at the Emirates Stadium, amid talk that he has told the club he would like to leave in the summer transfer window
PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! Bernd Leno could be a surprise Arsenal departure this summer. There is speculation that the Germany international has informed the Gunners of his intention to leave the club when the transfer window opens - less than a year after his former rival for the no.1 spot Emiliano Martinez was sold to Aston Villa. Whether Mikel Arteta would be open to cashing in on Leno remains to be seen, but the goalkeeper's contract situation does put Arsenal in a strong negotiation position. An arrival from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2018, Leno still has two years remaining on his deal at the Emirates Stadium. Currently valued at £22.5m on transfermarkt, the 29-year-old is one of few players Arsenal can sell to raise significant funds to bolster Arteta's first-team squad ahead of the new season. And amid fresh speculation surrounding his future, Leno has already admitted that he would be 'open to everything' after revealing that talks over a new contract have not begun. "Not yet and at the moment it's not the time to speak about the future," he said last month. "I know that I still have two years left on my contract and I'm also 29. "For a goalkeeper, that's not too old. I've still got some years to go. I'm very happy at the club. I don't know what will come in the future, but I'm open to everything.

After missing the end of last season through injury, Leno has established himself as the undisputed number one choice in between the sticks for Arsenal this year. Sunday's 2-0 win over Newcastle United was only the third Premier League games he has missed, keeping nine clean sheets in the process. He is expected to be recalled for Thursday's Europa League semi-final second leg against Villarreal where he will come up against Unai Emery - the manager who signed him for Arsenal.
