PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! Mikel Arteta and Edu face a tough task on their hands this summer as they look to strengthen Arsenal's squad. Finances are unsurprisingly tight after the club announced a £47.8m loss for the financial year from 2019 to 2020. Those figures are likely to look even worse in the next financial year due to the significant impact of the coronavirus pandemic. But the Gunners have long been regarded as the Premier League's self-sustainable club, utilising finances they have accrued through player sales and departures. At 22-years-old, the newly-appointed Norway captain has settled into life in north London with ease and already filled the creativity void. Odegaard has impressed during his loan spell from Real Madrid so far, scoring important goals against Olympiacos and Tottenham and putting in a domineering display as the Gunners came back from three goals down to draw with West Ham a fortnight ago. As reported by football.london , Odegaard has told those close to him that he would like to stay at Arsenal beyond the end of this season. "I speak with him every day," he said. "I see his face, his body language and he seems really happy right now here. "Our contract with him is until the end of the season. What we have to do is try to make him perform, develop and be as happy as he can be." Outgoings Departures are likely to take centre stage at Emirates Stadium this summer. Matteo Guendouzi will almost certainly be sold to raise funds after his successful loan spell at Hertha Berlin. Lucas Torreira recently revealed that he wants to sign for Boca Juniors following the passing of his mother. While Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Joe Willock are likely to be moved on if the right offer comes in.

Dani Ceballos is set to return to his parent club Real Madrid with a third loan extension looking unlikely at this stage. Granit Xhaka, Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny are all preferred by Arteta and look set to stay beyond next season. There are also high hopes for a number of academy starlets including Charlie Patino, who has consistently played above his age group at all levels for the club. Patino, 17, is considered by many to be one of Arsenal's best prospects and will get a further chance to impress with the first team in pre-season. Finances As previously mentioned, football.london understands that the club will look to move on a number of fringe players in the coming months, and will use the funds to finance new signings. Arteta has confirmed that he has the full backing of Arsenal owners Kroenke Sports and Entertainment going in to the summer transfer window. "The team is going to reflecting in better performance, results and at the end of the season we'll see where we are and have a discussion."
