PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! Tottenham and trophies don't exactly go together too well, but Antonio Conte is hopefully going to be the man to change that. Spurs have an ongoing 14-year trophy drought and have struggled to get over the line, when it comes to silverware. From the 2019 Champions League final loss, to the Carabao Cup final defeat to Man City just last year, the Lilywhites have had their fair share of chances in cup competitions. However, fans haven't been able to celebrate the success of winning a trophy for many years and if Tottenham want to be competing with the best, this needs to change. Since Conte's arrival last November, he has made a major impact both on and off the pitch, to individual players and team performances. Spurs finished the last campaign in fourth, meaning a return to Champions League football next season. READ MORE: Fabio Paratici's next Tottenham transfer priority for Antonio Conte has already become clear This will give the Lilywhites at least four opportunities to try and win a trophy. The 52-year-old needs a successful transfer window to try and strengthen his squad and Tottenham are off to a good start. Spurs have already signed Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster and Yves Bissouma, three players who can all offer different strong qualities to Conte's squad. The Lilywhites have been linked to a number of other players, across the world and more signings are expected, ahead of the start of the 2022/23 season. As well as incomings, Tottenham are likely to see a number of players leave N17. Some members of the squad struggled for regular game time in the last campaign, something no footballer wants to go through and with the upcoming World Cup, it is even more of an issue for some. Steven Bergwijn admitted his want to leave this summer, with the Dutchman heavily linked with a move to Ajax. Harry Winks and Joe Rodon could be amongst the departures, with both wanting and needing more time on the pitch.

. A study by BonusCodeBets found that Tottenham are the best Premier League side for launching former players to silverware. The research looked at each of the Premier League's highest value departures and the trophies they have won since leaving N17. Spurs' most expensive departures have won a huge 82 trophies, with Liverpool in second, 13 behind the Lilywhites. These come from a number of players who have won silverware at various clubs, with the top three being Luka Modric (20), Gareth Bale (19) and Michael Carrick (18). Others include Kyle Walker (11), Dimitar Berbatov (8), Christian Eriksen (1), and these have come from teams and competitions all over the world. But this is not what Tottenham want to happen. These players play their part in squads who win trophies, so Spurs either need to become one of those clubs, keep these players rather than moving them on, or both. On the face of it, these won't be a pleasing statistic for Tottenham fans to read. But a positive spin can be put on it, if supporters look at where their side is now. Spurs have top facilities, a world-class manager and finished last season off in great form, despite how the campaign started. The summer transfer window hasn't even been open for two weeks and the Lilywhites have already secured three deals, all of which are solid signings. There are still changes that need to be made, but the squad have a tough pre-season to prepare for a big campaign. If Tottenham can continue their already-successful transfer window and Conte can continue having a positive impact on his side, then Spurs will hopefully soon be able to start competing with the likes of Man City and Liverpool and maybe silverware is only round the corner.
