PremierLeague-News.Com - Breaking Sport Transfer News ! Sam Fender has announced he has cut ties with SSD Concerts after a series of allegations about its treatment of employees. emerged online The North East concert promoter has faced a backlash from some within the music industry after a series of allegation about pay and workplace culture were posted on the firm's Instagram account. The company, which was behind last summer's socially distanced shows at the Virgin Money Unity Arena and the This is Tomorrow festival, had its Instagram account hacked by what is believed to be a disgruntled former employee. The claims, which were posted on workplace review website Glassdoor, included accusations of "underpaying" workers, "offensive" language and people being made to feel "uncomfortable" at work. Newcastle band Lanterns on the Lake, and venue Boiler Shop, have since cut ties with the company in the wake of the claims. Now North Shields singer-songwriter Sam Fender has also announced that he is to cut ties with SSD Concerts as the company confirmed its managing director, Steve Davis, has stood down. The musician tweeted a statement saying that he had heard "shocking stories" from the North East music scene over the past week after the allegation emerged on Instagram, and that there was "absolutely no place for harassment". However, both the company and Mr Davis have issued strong denials to all claims, with the latter going as far as calling them "malicious". Mr Davis claimed that he had been "publicly tarnished based on several anonymous comments posted online.". He added: "I would firstly like to say that it is vital to take any allegations of inappropriate behaviour seriously. If people feel they have been treated poorly, they should feel safe in speaking out and confident that action will be taken." However, neither Mr Davis nor SSD Concerts has yet directly responded to Fender's claims. And his resignation was confirmed by the company on Monday though the firm stressed it would be doing its best to ensure that tickets for its events remain valid. The board and management team will take the company forward and I wish them all the success in the future.” A statement from SSD Concerts said that a confidential email address has been set up for people wishing to raise complaints about work place cultures at the company and that an investigation was under way. It added: "SSD Concerts has already opened up a confidential email for anyone who would like to raise a complaint directly to our head of HR on HR@ssdconcerts.co.uk. "In order to ensure that anyone who wishes to come forward feels confident in doing so, we will also be asking an outside organisation to look into the allegations and be a separate point of contact. We will provide more details on this as soon as possible. "The company is also taking steps to ensure that all shows will go ahead and that all tickets remain valid."
